Peru (ISA World Games)

Well I'm in Peru now for the ISA World surfing games and its pretty solid today. The first day was super fun and the whole SA team won there heats. The second day was heaps bigger and everyone except Greg made there heats. He unfortunately had a whole bunch of sets on the head and just got sucked to deep. He could have smoked those guys easily but just was meant to be. He's in the reps now and I think he'll do just fine.

Today is gonna be the boys and the long boarders. So pretty amped to watch then. I had a bit of a sleep in today and gonna have a chilled day.

Bali to Peru

So now Im in Peru. This is the processes it took me to get here:

Catch Taxi to airport
Break bag and have to buy new one
Check in at Bali and fly to Malaysia
Sit in Malaysia for 9 hours
Fly from Malaysia to Joburg
Have shit Wimpy in Joburg
Then fly to Cape Town
Drive home from airport
Get home repack
wake up at 2am from jet lag
Drive to airport at 3:30am
Fly to Joburg at 5:45am
Get to Joburg and Chad missed his flight, I had all his Kit with me
Check in with Cyril and got away with a very heavy bag
Fly to Sao Paulo
Get into Premier Lounge and wait for flight
Flight gets delayed by 4 hours
Get on flight and fly to Peru, Lima
Mike picks me up 2:20am and drive 40min to accommodation.
arrive at 3am and stay up to get the dawnie at 5am.

That is my trip to Peru. Tiering hey! I went ont to surf twice that day and got to bed at 8pm...

Bali

Ok, So I completely forgot to update my Blog while i was in Bali. But really come now, who wants to be spending time on there laptop in a beautiful place like that.

I got Invited to the Oakley World Juniors in Bali and what an experience. I learnt so much!!!! It was a bit of a culture shock but I adapted quick quick. I loved the place, whether, waves and greenery... I actually enjoys the food too. Cap Cay. Yummmy...

Ater the event my mom and I kinda split from the other Safas and did our own thing. We got massages, shopped, I surfed, we went exploring and best of all we got to chill at the pool and souk up the amazing bali sun.

I had a great trip and bonded quick nicely with my mother dearest haha. Im so keen to go back there I cant wait...

WOW another win this time the Billabong Pro Junior

First Billabong Pro Junior I'v ever one and my last.

Beating Sarah Baum in the final was a great achievement too..

Just won the Mr Price SA Open

I am so stoked I won this event. The waves were so fun and I love surfing the reef.

Competition was tough but fitness and determination helped.

This is a great stepping stone for me, going to Victoria bay for my last Billabong Pro Junior.

YEAH IM SO EXCITED I MADE THE SA TEAM TO GO TO PERU...

Well a couple thing have happened. I made the SA Senior team and had had a pretty hard trial then I went to USA got my best result. I got a 9th place and was so stoked.

Uggg I think Im getting sick. GREAT

Well last night my nose was running and now this morning Im feeling a bit iggy. Medicine time. Great tried so hard not too and now. My nose is running, I keep sneezing and I am now feeling tiered.

Joys of traveling

What a day, we woke up at about 7am and got all our packing done, had some breakfast and started our walk to the end of the campsite. We carried our bags so far and they are so heavy. The taxi arrived and we went to the town to get our bus. We were early so we made turns going to coles. We got some snacks and our bus arrived. We drove for 6 hours and got to bus station in Perth. Then we got a taxi to the air port and been here since 3pm. Our flight was delayed till 1:30am and there is such a storm outside. The domestic air ports roof callapst in and some flights may not leave. Pretty heavy cause we saw Travis and his wife in the air port and she is on the same flight as us but he's going to Bells, so well wait and see what happens. We can only check in at 8pm and we keep making turns watching the bags, so we can go to the loo and go the the shops. I got such pretty things but can't say cause its for my mommy and daddy.

Now I'm just waiting to check in cause Im so hungry, We  might get free food vouchers I really hope....

Night out

Our night out was so funny, couldn't get into concert cause it was $70. So we went to Settlers Tevern, we were first bounced. Then we got in and had beer, yuggg. They had a folk band thing on and there were some crazy people. Tarryn got all creeped on by this weird guy, so funny. Us girls danced and some fun then headed home...

Had quite a fun day. We got up an hour and a half later than the alarm went. We headed to contest and watched the girls heats. It was amazing. Some of these girls rip. Stoked for chelsea she rips and her little girl is so cute, a little classic. Went for a paddle after wards at Surfers point and had so much fun, then we got home and had fish and couscous. We were so hot and decided to go for a swim it was so fun. Then we got home, had a shower and washed the car. Now we going to have some Pizza.

OMG that was the best final ever. Taj was leading the whole heat, comboing Josh. It was 5min remaining and josh takes off on a nug. Does the biggest grab rail air, lands it then does another air and lands that one too. He gets a 10 all across the board. Paddles back to the line up and now needs a 6.5. He takes off on another smaller nug and does the sickest air 360, lands it and he was so stoked he did a little claim and followed it with a cutty. He gets a 7.5. This all happened in the last 5min I remind you. It was amazing.

Blommy's heat is up shortly so I said Id caddy for her. I get my suit and we paddle out. She didn't have such a good heat but I know she tried her best and it was super tricky with the onshore. She also had a tight heat but if she got there waves she would have caned them.

I have my 2nd hot chocolate for the day and my 2nd chocolate chip cookie. We then go to the cafe and hit the net. Tarryn books the bus and I get our accommodation sorted for one more night. It's the bands on tonight so I think we going to have some fun in Margs town for one last time. I'm pretty amped to come home now but we have a 6 hour bus ride to Perth then a cab to air port then wait in air port for like 3 hours and then get on a plain for 8 hours. I JUST WANNA GET HOME. but its going to be a mission and I might as well make the most of it...

Wave hunt

Woke up kinda late and went wave hunting. We drove so much I got car sick. Got to Yullenyup or what ever it is and here were fun lefts, Tarryn and I went for a paddle but it was average.  I got a cute bikini with ice creams all over it. Then we drove home. It took almost the whole day. I had a Tuna sandwich and then went shopping with Mrs Buitendach it was cool I got one or two nice things. Then we went home and there were new neighbors who where so loud. Spoke to mom about the pro junior and it will be R8000 in total if I stayed so i decided rather togo home. OZ is really cool but I'm missing home. Its true that you don't know what you have till you loose it. We then had some chicken curry and went to bed. Spoke in bed for a couple hours and eventually dosed off.

Western Australia

Ok so our trip to Western Oz starts off with us getting a taxi at 2am, the taxi was late and we were going to miss our train to Sydney from Newy. Then the boards won't fit. I made a plan. Definatly my fathers child. We get to train station and make our train. Tarryn sleeps and I watch the bags. Drunk kids all over catching the train home form the jol. Then half way to Sydney our train stops and we have to change trains. We got all ur bags, board and back packs. We make that train in time. We get to Sydney central nd get another taxi to air port. Few we made our flight. I have only slept for 2 hours. Get on flight ( we werent over weight some how) I sleep the whole way. Jen and Jess collect us with bottle of vidca and we head off to internationals to get B's bag. We go to there house pack the car and head off the Margs. We get here and its late, Im tiered and I wanna sleep. We find B and everythings sorted.

Its my Birthday. I get the first msg and Im so excited. Then mom and dad phone and people at contest wish me happy birthday. Girls didn't surf today so we went durfing at Gas and The right just on the left of surfers point. Its was really fun. We have a pretty chilled day and got for dinner. We get asked for ID. B couldn't order cold drink or food cause she was under age. So we waited and hour and a half for her mom befoe she could order. I got asked for ID 3 times that night. So funny. The OZZIE girls arrive with doughnuts and candles and poppers. They made it s cool. Had fish and chips and a coke. AMAZING. They had karioki that night, funniest things ever. The whole pub sang happy birthday for me and some guy dedicated ( the eye of the tiger) to me, haha so funny. Pretty cool birthday. Tarryn gave me a pretty card at 10pm and Ozzie girls gave me Pressy and card.

Dy of the event. I get knocked first heat. I needed a 1.98 and got a 1.93. Wow. The Tarryn and I went with Sarah and we watche peter pan then went to surf South point in Grace town, such a fun left. Had dinner with them best salad and rice veg thing ever. Got a lift home late and had no signal all day so couldn't talk to anyone. Got home and went to bed.

Today the waves were amazing OMG. We watced some mens heats and then decided to go for a surf. So we get all our stuff and go back to Grace town. We had even funner lefts. Im in heaven here. Then we came back to contest sight and B surfed Surfers point and I watched. It was onshore and siff. Had an amazing cup of coffee then went home. We went for dinner again with a french girl and her mom. Saw all the boys there on the jol so funny. I had fish and chips again. So good here not sure why. Been eating so much fish here. Tuna for lunch and fish for Dinner. Tarryn and I had some wine. $7 per glass. but was amazing... headedhome and went to bed...

Aggggg Still on the Land of OZ

Been Surfing all around Margret river. Had such fun was at Grace town and think its going to be cooking tomorrow. Staying at caravan park with B and her mom. Been sick. Had the most amazing wine last night from Margs. Just been exploring and having fun with all the Zaffa girls. Not much news will updated as soon as I can.

Might stay for Pro junior in Sydney but will see how much it will cost...

Missing home......w

No such a bad day I reckon

Awake at 6am is a hack but I did it and got ready for the day. I had some toast and some tea.  Then we went down to the beach and it was smaller and the wind was stringer. They started with the girls so I got my back up board ready for my heat so that I didn’t have to do it later. Tarryn and I watched the first 2 heats and then got dressed and went for a free surf before our heats. I got one or two and got out cause I was getting tiered cause of the rip and didn’t want to be tiered for my heat. I waxed up had a goji berry juice (it helped heaps cause I was pretty tiered after that paddle) I got my vest, I was white… Good color. Then headed down the beach to paddle out for my heat. There were so many jellies in the water I’m surprised I didn’t get stung. Our heat started and I was a bit slow on getting waves but got some eventually. It was 1 minute remaining and I wasn’t sure what the situation was cause it was strong onshore. I remember someone telling my I must surf a clever heat. So what I did was work out kind of what the commentator was saying and hustled the Ozzie in Yellow. It paid off cause she needed a 3 and so did black but I couldn’t get to black and I’m only one person. I got 2^nd to Tarryn. I was so stoked and didn’t mind the 2^nd cause its all about the final baby.  We got our packages and in it were cards for a free entry to fanny's nightclub. That made me laugh...hahahah...We then got bus halfway home and walked the rest. HACK. Then we walked some more looking for the mall. We kind of found it and I saw something so pretty. A silver necklace with a tree pendent, lame but I loved it. We rushed home to go to movies with some of the girls from the comp and we watched Alice in wonderland. It was pretty and weird. We now going to get dinner. Not sure how we getting to beach tomorrow kind of worried. We also just found out our flights on Sunday. So we are doing the 2:30 am train to airport. GREAT….

I just had the most amazing pasta and some lemonade. Then followed by a Lindt hot chocolate. Just a bit of a treat for the day...

B.A.N.A.N.A.S

Today was pretty average and we didn't do much. Got up and went to beach early it was ice cold and waves looked fun just windy. So we hung around waiting for the contest to start. we drove back and for with brendon and got back to event and watched his heat. We went home and walked some more through shops. Got more suveneers and then went home to eat and chill.. Missing home today. Owe well think we surf tomorrow, PRETTY AMPED...NEVER BEEN MORE READY. Tarryn and I are in same heat. Cool Bananas.

It's raining its pouring the old man is snoring

Its raining outside and we in a little cafe. It's so pretty and reminds me of home. BUT we have no umbrellas and we have to walk home. Joys of not being 21 and not having a car.

Castle of New shitness

So we been in Newcastle for 3 days and its been interesting. The first day I told you about loosing my phone. Well the next day I decided to phone the train station and see if they had it, well they didn’t. So Tarryn and I woke up at about 11am on Tuesday and got dressed and ready to go to the shops to get me a new phone. I asked Andrew how much he thinks a phone would be and he said not under $50 so I was pretty bummed cause my last sim cost me $10 so I kind of budgeted for $60. When we got to the shop I found a place that sold phones and I got one for $42 and a sim for $2. So that was way less than what I budgeted for. We then went and bought some groceries. On our way back we took the trolley with us an while we were pushing it I was in front of it pulling and it rammed into the back of my one ankle. It took off so much skin and it was so painful. Well we got home and cleaned it and ate some food before we walked to Merewether. Well that walk was so long and it was so hot. We were hating life and decided that in future we are hiking or taking the bus home. WALKING IS OUR LAST OPTION…. We got there and registered and got our ABN sorted. Then we went for a surf and got a lift home with one of the officials. They were all so nice and helped us out so much. They even offered us a lift in the mornings. We got home and Becci and Andrew were here and we just chilled and got to sms home. I was so happy, I felt lost without my phone. I was missing my home people…. We then went to bed and there was some kind of screaming match outside our window, but I went back to sleep pretty easily. Tarryn couldn’t sleep though.

10March2010

The next morning we got up at 6:30 and got ready for the beach. Tarryn wasn’t very happy cause she didn’t really get sleep. We had some breakfast and got a lift with Becci to the contest. When we got there I wanted to get in the water straight away so I went to go get dressed, then Tarryn came and got dressed and we went for a surf. It wasn’t my best surf but I did have fun and learn heaps about the break. When we got out we some how got a warm shower organized and got dressed. We went to watch the contest and when it started getting cold we went to the tent where lunch was meant to be served at 12. It only came at 12:30 and we sat there for an hour and a half waiting to eat so we could go home. FREE FOOD CAN’T BE LEFT. So when we walked out we asked where a bus stop was and the one guy offered us a lift again, so stoked. We got home and took some photos with Tarryn’s computer and I got really sleepy so I went to lie down. I slept for about an hour and then woke up when Tarryn woke me to do something. It was raining now and so amped to get straight back into bed. Owe well she at least made me tea. Shot Tarryn…. We finally got up and went to a cafe and got on the net. We had some tea and shared a brownie. So cute, our new method to not eating bad things if we share its half the price and half the calories.

Hating life right now

Today was SHIT we got our taxi from the house to the train station. When we got there we had to carry all our stuff around thats like 40 kg....shooot me. Then when we were on the train this miget helped us sort our boards out, funny days. While we were on the train it suddenly stopped and the lights went out. We realised that the part we were in was going to split and go back to the yard so we grabbed all our stuff and ran to the front train. When we were inside I realised my phone was gone..... Hating life. We arrived here and Andrew collected us and we got to there house. We had a quick surf and came back to a yummy meal that Becci and Andrew made... Thanks guys. Now I'm missing home and can't get hold of anyone. I feel LOST......

quick hour surf. What a shitty wave this is in front of the place we staying

in Tamarama. Owe well now I'm packed and waiting for Tarryn to finish. 

Our Taxi arrives at 2 pm. Then it takes us to the central train station. Where we get 

the train to Newcastle.....

Hope we get some fun waves and have as much fun as we did in Sydney...

Top 5 Moments in Sydney

Australia

1. Funniest moment on the trip: 

When Tarryn and I were lying in bed, Freezing our ass's off cause the air con was so cold. So we shot gunned who must go try turn it down. Tarryn lost and she went to switch the light on, but that took her like 10 min to find and she didn't even end up finding it I had to get out of bed and go switch it on. Then she went to the wall were we thought the air con was and she push's the on button for the surround system with classical music playing load. We were in stitches cause it was about 3 am in the morning. She switches it off and then we can't find the air con so we leave it. But for some reason Tarryn switched the surround sound on again. It was pretty funny.

2. Most irritating moment of the trip: 

When we were looking for Brendon and Shaun in Sydney central. We were running between 2 Mcdonalds on the one end of the city and they were running between 2 Mcdonalds on the other end of the city. All in all we ended up in China town.

3. Best new experience of the trip:

Tapas. This was the best thing in the world. The food was amazing. Tarryn and I couldn't get enough. I also had Tuna and Tofo for the first time.

4. Worst New experience of the trip:

JETLAG. OMG this is a night mare. I was up till 3 am this morning and made myself go sleep. Then we only woke up at 11 am and could have probably slept till like 2 pm.

5. Strangest moment of the trip: 

When we got home and there was a priest and a monk sitting on the balcony. Freaky. Not something you see everyday. Then when we got to the restaurant we realize they both aloud to drink and the Monk owned........ wait for it........ an iphone. Yes you herd me correct.

Day 3 in Sydney Australia

We woke up today and we were ready for another adventure. I got up at about 9am and Tarryn got up shortly after me. we had a quick cup of coffee and headed out the door to go see the Cathedral and experience my first mass. It was a beautiful Cathedral and the Mass was really interesting, a new experience. It did creep me out a bit I must admit. We then walk down the street through the Botanical gardens and that was just as amazing. On our way we stopped in at the NSW Art gallery. It had all kinds of art and there were some awesome art works in. We started getting hungry so we decide to go to the Sydney Central. We had to walk through the botanical gardens again and this time we got to see a really cool view of the Sydney Opera house. We took some photos and started our walk to town again. When we got in town we had no idea where to go so we just walked. We got to a street with heaps of people so we guessed it was the right one. While we were walking brendon phoned Tarryn and he and Shaun where in Sydney and we needed to his Visa papers to him. It was such a miscomunication trying to find each other and it took us about and hour to realise they were in China town and we were no where near that. So we had a quick bite to eat and got a cab and drove down to china town, haha. When we got there it was full of cheap chinese things and it didn't take us long to find them. When we got them they just wanted to get out of there but they were so hungry. So while we waited for our bus they went to Subway and we got something to drink at gloria jeans. We hopped on the bus to Bondi beach and we where glad to get out of there. Half way through our drive home Tarryn and I realized that we weren't too sure where we were. The bus then suddenly stopped under ground at another bus stop this time in Oxford st. luckily we knew where we were cause we where there yesterday. We went to the shop where Tarryn's T-shirt was and she finally got it. We walked around some more till the boys found this one shop. I tell you they shop more than us and the amount of money they paid for the stuff was absurd. We then went into another mall which had 6 levels. No shops really tickled our fancy there so we headed to the bus stop where we needed to catch the 381 to Bondi beach. On our way they saw another shop and I was so tiered, feet where sore and all I wanted to do is go home. So we went in anyway and it had some really cool stuff, Tarryn found this sick dress for cheap but it was too big for her. I think I have to go buy it for me tomorrow. Anyway, so we got back to the bus stop and we got the right bus home. We arrived there and Tarryn and I wanted to go check in with Jo too see what there plans where. When we got home Jo was sitting outside with Rosa the Priest and another friend who was a monk. Interesting. Jo invited us for Tapas but we already told the boys that we would join them for dinner. So it took us like an hour to get dressed and we went to meet the boys, when we got there they had already eaten. So we walked with them to the bus station and said our goodbyes. We then realized we better hurry home if we want dinner so we ran the whole way, we had sweat dripping down our faces. We got home and they were still here. We then got dressed again and took a walk to the Tapas restaurant. It was raining and dark already but still really hot. On our way I saw a bat the size of a small dog... So creepy. We got to the Tapas restaurant and ordered Strawberry daiquiris. they were way too strong for me so I kept pouring mine into Tarryn's, It was pretty funny. The food arrived and it was amazing I was really blown away. We also got desert and that was a hit as usual. WE had some chats and giggles. All in all it was a really good night. Jo and James paid for our dinner so we were so stoked. Thanks guys!!!! When we were done we headed home in James's car. When we got home we kicked off our shoes and head straight for laptops... Pretty funny.....

Exploring Sydney

So now Tarryn and I are finally awake and we ready to go explore. We get all our stuffies together and take a strole to Bondi beach, which is right around the corner from where we stay. We walked so much and it was so hot. In the beginning of the walk my camera wouldn't work, Tarryn's comment was; "its probably just tiered" true as bob a couple minutes later it worked. When we got home we were so hungry so we got some food and down loaded photos, I started getting tiered and went to lie down. Tarryn came and woke me up a couple minutes later and we decided to go to Sydney central. We found out that Oxford street was way better so we went there instead. We waited so long for a bus and eventually ran down to get one where there were no people cause we kept missing the busses cause they got full too quick. When we got to Oxford st. I found a souvenir shop and I got my Mom and Dad something. We walked some more and my feet got so sore. We went into one of the shopping centers and it was so expensive so we didn't buy anything. We got the next bus quite quick and headed home. We got home at about 6pm and I was starved so I made a honey and peanut butter sandwich with some coffee. Rosa (one of Jo's friends) He's a priest... Would never have guessed. He was home and asked us if we wanna go to the pub, hilarious.... Drinks on the priest, whoop whoop

So now we off to the pub and dinner.....

Starting our trip to OZ

So we running down the hall ways of the airport, Late for our first flight. We had our take out in our hands and it was getting all mushed up while we run. We get our bags through the scanner and run to the gate. We made it. Few, but then it dawned on me my Blackberry wans't in my hand anymore. NOOOOOOO I give Tarryn my stuff and run back, the guy at the gate gave me 2 options; get phone and get kicked off the flight or go back and leave my Blackberry behind. So I headed back to our flight crying my eyes out. I called my mom and she freaks out cause I'm in Hysterics, I tell her to get it and she drops everything and sprints to the scanning area. This big black lady stops her and asks her whats on the phone. Thank goodness for Mellow cause all my mom said was "white cat" so she got it back. But mean time in the plane the air hostess tells me the phone is taken to the police station. I quickly sms mom to tell her its at police station but failed to mention what or who. So both moms (Tarryn and my Mom) freak out cause they think we are at the police station. The guy who stopped me in the beginning got hold of them and calmed them down, telling them we were on the plain...

Now that I had calmed down I thought I would tackle my mashed up Bangers and mash. They tasted good if you didn't look at them. The flight to Jo-burg went really quick. When we got there we weren't quite sure where to go so we asked a man working for the airport. He lead us straight to where we had to go. When we were about to check in we realized neither of us had our boarding passes of the previous flight and our tracking numbers where on them for our bags and boards. So we headed all the way back to the other end of the airport to go get the tracking numbers. We eventually got them and checked in. We didn't have any bags with us so that was a life saver. In the airport waiting for our flight we got Hot chocolates and a chocolate crusant which we shared. At this stage I have had 2 liters of water, hot chocolate and an orange juice. lets just say i was walking back and for the the loo a lot. So we got on our flight (in time). I got window and Tarryn got middle. No one was on the Isle so we had heaps of space. I watched bits and pieces of movies and then got Dinner (Beef, mash and veg) whats the chances. We then pretty much fell asleep and woke up when it was Breakfast time. We got off the plain and we were ready for our trip. So it was photo taking time. Tarryn wipped out her new camera that she got the day before and the screen was completely cracked. So she was super bummed but when she realized it could still take pictures but can't see them she smiled.

We then went off to customs and they took my biltong away, kinda saw that coming. Then we headed off to collect our bags. Both of ours arrived and we just praying our boards where there too. We came around the corner of the oversized baggage and there they were. We literally jumped for joy. As we got out we saw a Vodafone stand and got sims to keep in contact back home. We actually got a really good deal. We got some cash and went to find a taxi.

The taxi driver took us straight where we wanted to go and charged us $AUS50, we kinda budgeted for that so it was cool. When we arrive at the place it was so cool, modern and designer. A view too die for and all the channels on t.v you can think of. We made ourselves at home.

We then went for a short surf out front, Ozzies are really friendly. This one guy just started taking to me randomly. When we got out Jo was here and we said our hello's and got comfy on the couch. We ordered some pizzas which were amazing and then watched Zoo Lander. Soo funny...

Tarryn and I were up till about 12 and decided it was time to go to bed. I of course woke up at 4am and couldn't sleep. It took me an hour and I was back in gaga land. I woke up at about 9am and had some coffee. Tarryn got up at about 10am and looked like a Zombie, so funny. So now we gonna have some breakfast and then go explore Sydney....
